SPALTED MAPLE BURLWOOD VASE BY JOHN MASCOLL

This turned wood vessel was crafted by highly regarded Florida based artisan John Mascoll and is composed of Spalted Maple Burl wood. The vessel has a traditional baluster form and has been polished to showcase the figured pattern of the spalted maple, highlighting the unique qualities imparted by its naturally occurring imperfections. As seen in the accompanying photographs, the piece features a live edge at the top which serves to add visual interest. There is a cylindrical hole at the center so the piece can be used as a candle holder or a bud vase.
